Enjoy a self-guided walking holiday on the 36 mile Coleridge Way through some of Somerset’s most spectacular countryside. You pass through the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor, the landscape which inspired Coleridge to produce some of his best work. The route starts in Nether Stowey in the Quantock Hills where Coleridge lived for 3 years and makes its way through a variety of landscapes – heathland, moorland, woodland, farmland, valleys, and villages until it reaches the north coast at Porlock.
You can walk this wonderful trail through Somerset over 3 days at about 12 miles per day. Please see details below.
You can also make the Coleridge Way into a longer walking holiday by linking up with:
- the South West Coast Path which goes through Porlock,
- the Two Moors Way which goes through Lynmouth,
- and with the Macmillan Way West which intersects at Bicknoller.
